Head of Financial Control (Finance)

Location: Primarily based at Brisbane South (Nathan), Australia, with on-campus and work-from-home options; work across other university locations may be required.

What you will do

• Lead and develop teams across Financial Management, Treasury, Tax, Financial Assurance, and Research Accounting.
• Oversee the financial control framework, statutory reporting, audits, assurance activities, and governance reporting.
• Lead treasury operations covering investments, cash flow, borrowing, and balance sheet management.
• Advise senior executives on complex financial, accounting, treasury, tax, and commercial matters.
• Manage relationships with auditors, banking and investment partners, and professional advisers.
• Strengthen financial risk management, fraud prevention, and assurance frameworks while driving continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualifications, preferably at postgraduate level.
• Substantial relevant professional experience.
• Mandatory membership of a professional accounting organisation such as CA or CPA.
• Full unrestricted Australian work rights are required.
• National criminal history checks may apply; visa sponsorship is not available.
