What you will do
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes and prepare reporting schedules and packs.
- Maintain accurate general ledger records, manage balance sheet reconciliations, analyse variances, and improve reporting processes.
- Assist with statutory financial statements, regulatory reporting, accounting standards updates, and Australian Bureau of Statistics surveys.
- Coordinate external audits and support internal audit and SOX testing activities.
- Document and monitor SOX controls, assist with remediation plans, and maintain a strong financial control environment.
- Collaborate with Finance, Internal Audit, Treasury, Tax, Shared Services, and external stakeholders on governance and systems improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- CA or CPA qualification, or nearing completion.
- Experience in financial accounting, external audit, or a similar role.
- Experience preparing financial reports under AASB and/or IFRS and supporting external audits and regulatory reporting.
- Exposure to SOX compliance, internal control frameworks, and listed, regulated, multinational, or complex corporate environments.
- Strong ERP systems knowledge and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Nice to have
- Experience working within a US-listed organisation or with US GAAP reporting.
- Previous chartered accounting or audit experience.
- Involvement in finance transformation or process improvement initiatives.
