Managing Consultant (Software Engineering)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid attendance in the office or on a client site at least two days per week, with assignments potentially requiring up to five days per week on a client site. Some UK roles require security clearance, and applicants may need to be British citizens or have maintained continuous UK residency for the past five years.

What you will do

• Shape and launch new service propositions while contributing to strategic business growth.
• Lead business development initiatives, including pre-sales, proposals, client engagement, and trusted stakeholder relationships.
• Advise FTSE 100 clients on complex challenges and deliver innovative, high-impact software solutions.
• Shape and communicate software engineering strategies across application, business, and integration domains.
• Coach team members, share knowledge, and create opportunities for professional growth.
• Contribute to thought leadership and develop market-relevant offerings.

Requirements

• Experience leading software development teams and delivering end-to-end solutions for complex client challenges.
• Strong understanding of at least one industry vertical.
• Ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders and translate technical insight into business value.
• Experience with business development, pre-sales, proposal development, and client engagement.
• Familiarity with engineering frameworks, modelling tools, and emerging technologies.
• For applicable UK security-cleared roles, British citizenship or at least five years of continuous UK residency may be required.

Nice to have

• An established network of senior stakeholders within a specialist sector.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures, IoT, UML, or ArchiMate.
