BSN Instructor (Mental Health)

Location: Campus-based in Fresno, California, with clinical education in Visalia

Salary: $55–$70 per hour, depending on experience

What you will do

• Provide mental health nursing instruction in skills-lab and clinical settings according to the established curriculum.
• Plan, supervise, and coordinate student clinical experiences at assigned healthcare facilities.
• Observe and evaluate student performance against clinical learning outcomes and provide timely feedback.
• Maintain accurate attendance records, skills check-off forms, student records, and program outcome data.
• Submit required reports, attend faculty meetings, and participate in nursing program committees.
• Use online learning activities, current technologies, and applicable safety regulations to improve instruction.

Requirements

• Valid, unencumbered California Board of Registered Nursing license required.
• Eligibility for approval by the California Board of Registered Nursing as a Mental Health instructor required.
• Master’s degree from an accredited institution with coursework in nursing, education, or administration and academic preparation in the teaching subject.
• A BSN candidate currently enrolled in a Master’s program may be considered for a Clinical Teaching Assistant position.
• At least four years of registered nursing experience, including one year within the last five years, with direct patient care experience.
• Expertise in mental health or another listed nursing area; nursing teaching experience or teaching-course completion is preferred.
