Senior Cost Estimator / Analyst / SME (Aerospace & Defense)

Location: Hybrid on/off client site in Washington, DC, Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, and across the Continental United States (CONUS), Mid-Atlantic/National Capital Region

What you will do

• Act as the senior technical authority for operation and support cost estimating and modeling for ACAT I Department of the Air Force and Department of Defense aircraft and space programs.
• Lead legacy operation and support cost estimates, independent cost estimates, NACAs, and SCPs for programs at or beyond IOC plus five years.
• Define analytical approaches, cost elements, methodologies, data strategies, and long-term sustainment resource models.
• Review and validate models, assumptions, inflation and price escalation, statistical analysis, cost risk, and uncertainty analyses.
• Reconcile estimates with program offices and OSW CAPE, and prepare briefings for AFCAA leadership, SAF/FMC, Congress, and GAO.
• Mentor junior estimators, provide quality oversight, and support sustainment reviews and related trade, divestiture, and force-structure analyses.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of progressive cost analysis experience, including at least 5 years of concentrated O&S cost estimating for Department of the Air Force or Department of Defense aircraft and/or space programs.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, economics, mathematics, operations research, finance, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• Recognized authority in O&S cost estimating with experience leading complex, multi-year cost analysis efforts and completing estimates independently.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience using the Air Force Total Ownership Cost (AFTOC) database.
• Knowledge of sustainment and logistics for aircraft and space systems, cost element structuring, inflation and escalation, budget formulation, affordability analysis, and cost risk and uncertainty modeling.
• Current SECRET security clearance required.
