TL;DR

Location: On-site at the U.S. Department of Energy Idaho Operations Office, 1955 Fremont Avenue, Idaho Falls, Idaho, United States

Employment type: Full-time W-2 position with no overtime pay.

What you will do

  • Provide advanced legal and administrative support to the Office of Chief Counsel.
  • Assist attorneys with complex case evaluation, development, litigation, and personal security hearings.
  • Prepare and review legal documents, maintain case files, and support document management.
  • Conduct detailed legal research and data analysis using specialized legal research tools.
  • Manage ethics records and financial disclosure reporting, including OGE Form 450 matters.
  • Support case tracking, records compliance, meeting coordination, and the legal intern program.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Security clearance is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, Business Administration, or a related field plus five years of relevant experience; alternatives include an associate's degree plus seven years or nine years of relevant experience.
  • One to three years of legal or administrative support experience in a federal environment.
  • Expert proficiency with legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis and advanced knowledge of federal legal processes, administrative law, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, confidentiality, accuracy, organization, prioritization, and attention to detail.

Nice to have

  • Paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program.
  • Federal Energy and Nuclear Sector experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, data analytics tools, and Visio.
