TL;DR
Corporate Attorney III - Employment (Employment Law): Providing strategic legal advice on employment matters, regulatory compliance, contracts, fundraising, and other legal needs with an accent on employee accommodations, nondiscrimination, Department of Labor matters, workplace reporting, FCRA compliance, and investigations. Focus on independently handling complex legal assignments, advising non-lawyers, and resolving enterprise-wide issues with internal departments, regulators, attorneys, donors, and other third parties.

Location: Memphis, Tennessee, United States; onsite office environment

What you will do

  • Provide strategic legal advice and counseling on employment law and other matters assigned by senior legal leadership.
  • Handle employee leave and accommodations, nondiscrimination matters, Department of Labor matters, workplace reporting, FCRA compliance, and workplace investigations.
  • Advise on fundraising compliance, charitable registrations, licenses, permits, grants, insurance, risk management, property, government relations, technology, marketing, and special projects.
  • Identify legal issues, assess enterprise-wide impact, and develop practical solutions with internal departments.
  • Represent hirify.global in dealings with attorneys, government officials, donors, entities, and other third parties.
  • Conduct legal research and document and communicate legal conclusions clearly.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate degree and license to practice law in Tennessee.
  • 5–7 years of legal or related experience handling employment matters.
  • Experience with employee leave and accommodations, federal and state nondiscrimination matters, Department of Labor matters, policy review, workplace reporting, FCRA compliance, and workplace investigations.
  • Ability to independently handle complex legal assignments, perform in-depth research and analysis, and determine which matters require escalation.
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, negotiation, proofreading, and multitasking skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.

  • Experience with regulatory agencies, oversight bodies, large organizations, litigation, or contracts.
