Engineering Operations Technician II (Construction Project Controls Engineering)

Location: On-site at the client site in Vancouver, Washington, United States, within the Pacific Northwest region.

What you will do

• Support FHWA Western Federal Lands Highway Division construction administration and project controls activities.
• Develop, analyze, coordinate, interpret, and present contract task orders, critical path method schedules, interagency agreements, plans, specifications, and project records.
• Inspect project documentation, construction records, and materials submittals, applying judgment to resolve non-routine issues.
• Prepare project plans, task orders, revised procedures, technical reports, and other project management documents.
• Support commissioning, inspections, emergency operations, contractor oversight, and compliance with FHWA, DOT, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Interact with personnel across departments and may train or assist lower-level contracted technicians.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required; visa sponsorship is not available, including H-1B and TN sponsorship.
• On-site client-site work is required in Vancouver, Washington.
• Associate’s degree in civil engineering technology or a related field, or equivalent related coursework, plus at least three years of progressive construction project administration experience for a general contractor.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology is preferred; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.
• Experience or knowledge in construction project controls, project management methodologies, contractor oversight, technical reporting, FHWA/DOT regulations, and CMMS or asset management systems.
• Strong problem-solving, independent judgment, leadership, communication, analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
