What you will do

• Provide personal financial counseling and management services to military service members and their families.
• Help service members establish spending plans for extended absences and deployments.
• Develop and distribute financial education materials and deliver classes, workshops, briefings, and seminars.
• Coordinate with installation and military branch points of contact to ensure services meet program requirements.
• Provide virtual counseling through secure online chat, web-based tools, video communication, or customer-sponsored video teleconferencing when authorized.
• Manage duty-to-warn situations, participate in supervision and training, and communicate installation trends and issues to leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; an associate degree plus four years of experience or a high school diploma plus six years of experience may be considered instead.
• At least three years of financial counseling experience.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Fluent English required.
• Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation and pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest process.
• One of the following certifications required: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC); a valid in-state driver’s license is also required.
