Network Management Consultant - Provider Performance (Healthcare): Managing provider contracting and performance improvement activities for HEDIS, STARS, risk adjustment, and value-based care across the Houston market with an accent on provider relationships, analytics, and strategic coverage. Focus on negotiating contracts, analyzing financial and performance trends, developing action plans, and driving measurable outcomes through onsite provider engagement.

Location: Hybrid field-based position in the Houston market; onsite at provider offices up to 3 days per week and work from home typically 2 days per week. The position may be performed remotely from anywhere within the continental United States, excluding California, New York, Alaska, and Hawaii.

Salary: $63,300–$114,300 annually, plus eligibility for an annual incentive bonus.

What you will do

  • Support HEDIS, CMS STARS, risk adjustment, financial provider performance, and contracting activities.
  • Develop and negotiate contracts with physicians, physician groups, and small to mid-size hospitals.
  • Support complex hospital and physician contracting initiatives within an assigned territory.
  • Build provider relationships and deliver ongoing education and service.
  • Use analytics to identify improvement opportunities, create action plans, and influence provider outcomes.
  • Travel within the assigned territory, including overnight stays, and work onsite at provider offices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of experience developing and negotiating provider contracts, or five years of managed care operations experience including at least one year of provider contract experience.
  • Analytical, organizational, planning, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the assigned territory, including overnight stays.
  • Ability to collaborate in a matrix environment and build working relationships with providers and internal stakeholders.

Nice to have

  • Previous HEDIS or CMS STARS experience.
  • Business degree and experience with health insurance, project management, financial or trend analysis.
  • Expert Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
  • Experience with EMRs, population health tools, provider outreach, medical record retrieval, chart notes, and HIPAA-compliant PHI handling.
