Sr Staff Actuary (Health Insurance)

Location: Remote, based in Nashville, Tennessee, United States

Base pay: $102,000–$184,300 annually, plus eligibility for an annual incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Manage the implementation, maintenance, critical review, and analysis of actuarial models, studies, and systems.
• Apply actuarial principles to pricing, underwriting, statistics, reserving, forecasting, and related functions.
• Develop complex models and teach others how to develop models.
• Prepare written and oral presentations that support business decision-making.
• Manage day-to-day projects involving actuarial and non-actuarial departments.
• Provide deep expertise in one actuarial area or business segment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or another relevant field.
• Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation and membership in the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA), including compliance with membership requirements.
• At least five years of actuarial experience in health insurance or a related field.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for documentation, training, and presentations.
• PC proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Nice to have

• Experience with Access, SQL, Visual Basic, or other programming tools.
• Medicare Part D experience.
