Applied AI Engineer

Location: Remote, United States only. Candidates must live and work in the United States and be eligible for employment by any U.S. employer.

Annual base salary: $125,000–$155,000, depending on qualifications, experience, and location. Additional compensation includes an annual performance bonus and equity participation.

What you will do

• Build and enhance AI-powered product features, initially focused on the AI Coach experience.
• Write and refine prompts to improve response quality and feature performance.
• Develop Python-based services and APIs supporting AI workflows.
• Work with PostgreSQL and vector-based data systems for AI applications.
• Implement features in FastAPI-based systems and use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate experimentation.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams on feature design and implementation.

Requirements

• 3+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong Python development experience and backend services or API development experience.
• Experience with LLM APIs, generative AI services, or AI-enabled application capabilities.
• Proficiency with AI-powered coding tools; Anthropic's Claude Code is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, collaboration, and technical judgment skills.
• Must live and work in the United States and be eligible for employment by any U.S. employer. A dedicated workspace and reliable internet service are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with FastAPI or similar frameworks.
• Familiarity with prompt evaluation or LLM testing approaches.
• Experience integrating AI into production SaaS platforms.
• Fintech or B2B SaaS experience.
