Software Engineer 4 (Enterprise AI)

Location: Vancouver, Canada; hybrid with at least 3 days per week onsite

Salary: CAD $151,000–$227,000 per year, plus potential equity, bonuses, and benefits.

What you will do

• Architect and develop horizontally scalable, fault-tolerant, containerized services on Kubernetes for enterprise AI and LLM workloads.
• Build and operate high-performance inference and platform services with low latency and high throughput.
• Design distributed systems across compute, storage, networking, virtualization, and low-level infrastructure layers.
• Implement multi-tenant services for on-premises, hybrid, and cloud-based AI deployments.
• Build observability architectures, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation while diagnosing production issues and improving reliability.
• Develop LLM serving capabilities such as request routing, rate limiting, token streaming, load balancing, quota management, and usage budgeting.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience developing maintainable, resilient software products in a product development organization.
• Strong foundations in data structures, algorithms, operating systems, networking, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud-native architectures, and backend development using Go, Python, C++, or Rust.
• Experience owning CI/CD pipelines, release automation, multi-tenant services, and deployments across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Experience with high-performance system software, distributed data stores, observability platforms, and production performance troubleshooting.
• Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience, with strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, GPU acceleration, or model-serving platforms such as vLLM, DeepSpeed, Hugging Face TGI, or Triton.
• Knowledge of retrieval-augmented generation, vector databases, AI orchestration frameworks, agentic systems, or production LLM APIs.
• Open-source contributions or experience working in large distributed codebases.
