Associate General Counsel (Pharmacy)

Location: Hybrid role based in Richardson, Texas; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Chicago, Illinois; Tulsa, Oklahoma; or Helena, Montana, with in-office work 3 days per week.

Base pay: $146,700–$272,400 annually, plus eligibility for an annual incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Provide legal advice and support for pharmacy programs, pharmacy benefit management, insurance policies, self-funded accounts, and government contracts.
• Advise internal business partners on healthcare, insurance, regulatory, operational, and general business matters.
• Lead legal review, analysis, and research for significant and complex legal issues.
• Represent the organization in litigation, administrative proceedings, and dealings with regulatory bodies and government agencies.
• Advise and guide less experienced attorneys while monitoring relevant laws, trends, and court rulings.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree.
• License to practice law in the state where the legal department is located.
• 8 years of experience as an attorney, with demonstrated healthcare or insurance experience.
• Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
• Negotiation and diplomacy skills.
• Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Nice to have

• 3–5 years of recent experience in healthcare law, pharmacy benefits law, or insurance law.
• Experience with regulatory compliance and/or litigation.
• Strong business collaboration and legal writing skills, including the ability to provide clear counsel and solutions to complex issues.
