Sr Director Application Reliability Engineering & Support

Location: IL - Chicago, United States

Base pay: $121,200–$225,200 per year, plus eligibility for an annual incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Lead operational excellence, governance, and continuous improvement for AMS Incident and Problem Management processes.
• Develop and oversee proactive monitoring, analytics, and performance management capabilities to identify and prevent production issues.
• Analyze maintenance metrics, operational trends, and service-level performance to identify risks and drive root-cause remediation.
• Oversee escalation procedures and end-to-end resolution of Severity 1 and Severity 2 incidents, including critical vendor-escalated issues.
• Coordinate business stakeholders, technology teams, and external vendors during incident response and service restoration.
• Manage operational budgets, resource allocation, business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and investment ROI.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of information technology experience, or a related degree and 16 years of technical experience.
• At least 5 years of management or leadership experience with the ability to drive cross-functional execution and influence stakeholders.
• Experience in application and server operations, application configuration, system architecture, and application portfolios.
• Experience with cloud computing, SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, code versioning and merging, and iterative Agile or Scrum development tools.
• Knowledge of Incident and Problem Management, root-cause analysis, ITIL, and Service Management.
• Experience with mobile, operating system, traditional application, and web technologies, including iOS, Android, Java, HTML5, SAP, COBOL, PHP, Ruby, and C#.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
