TL;DR
Sr Regulatory Affairs Specialist (Healthcare Regulatory Affairs): Coordinating major external reviews and audits while leading internal audits and regulatory projects with an accent on healthcare operations, compliance, process analysis, and professional staff supervision. Focus on interacting with regulatory agencies, analyzing and documenting data, applying auditing standards, and resolving complex project and compliance issues.

Location: Hybrid, Chicago, Illinois, United States

Base pay range: $70,600–$149,600 per year. An annual incentive bonus plan may also apply.

What you will do

  • Coordinate major external reviews, audits, and related services.
  • Lead internal audits and regulatory projects.
  • Lead and consult on major projects across the organization.
  • Analyze processes, data, documentation, and sampling results.
  • Prepare reports and support audit and regulatory deliverables.
  • Train and supervise professional staff on technical assignments and corporate applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of auditing, project management, or regulatory experience, or 9 years of relevant internal audit, project management, or regulatory experience in a financial or operational healthcare environment.
  • Experience leading or consulting on major projects.
  • Knowledge of department policies and procedures, process mapping, report writing, accounting and auditing standards, data collection, analysis, documentation, and sampling techniques.
  • Knowledge of business information resources, business practices, business law, and project management best practices.
  • Strong communication, time-management, project-management, supervisory, leadership, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to use presentation, database, spreadsheet, browser, and computer-aided tools and train others in standard office applications.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
  • Professional certification such as CPA, CIA, CISA, or CFSA.
  • Knowledge of corporate health and life operations, compliance support, codes of conduct, and corporate policies.
  • Familiarity with legislative and regulatory agency processes.
  • Experience working in heavily regulated environments and interacting with regulatory agencies.
