Claims Specialist 1

Location: Chula Vista, California; must reside in San Diego County. Full-time in-office work is required Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Salary: $19.50–$23.50 per hour.

What you will do

• Review and process child care provider payments accurately and within program timelines.
• Enter provider timesheets, invoices, payment data, and client information into applicable systems.
• Maintain payment reconciliation, records, reports, budget files, and audit documentation.
• Support participants, providers, county staff, partner agencies, and community partners with professional customer service.
• Monitor workloads, meet productivity goals, communicate with supervisors, and collaborate with colleagues.
• Protect confidential information and follow program policies, procedures, and quality standards.

Requirements

• Must reside in San Diego County and work full-time in the office.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, data entry, database management, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, prioritization, communication, problem-solving, and recordkeeping skills.
• Ability to learn new systems, apply policies and procedures, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Work authorization sponsorship, including H-1B sponsorship, is not available for newly hired foreign national workers.

Nice to have

• Experience with accounting, bookkeeping, payment processing, or related financial work.
• Experience with social service, child care, or public assistance programs.
• Experience with CalSAWS and KinderTrack.
• Bachelor's degree.
