Claim Technician (Healthcare)

Location: Houston, Texas, United States. The role starts onsite in the Houston office for five weeks, then moves to work from home with periodic in-office training or meetings as needed. Working hours fall between Monday and Friday, 7:00 am and 6:00 pm CST.

Base pay range: $17.75–$26.17.

What you will do

• Process complex medical claims requiring additional investigation.
• Coordinate benefits and apply relevant claims-processing principles.
• Resolve pended claims and maintain accurate claim records.
• Enter and review claim information while managing multiple priorities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience with data entry and/or typing.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience processing medical claims.
• Ability to complete the six-to-eight-week Blue Chip claims processing training class, if not already trained.
• Sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of medical terminology and CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-9 coding.
• Knowledge of coordination of benefits principles and terminology.
• Experience with multitasking and prioritization.
• Ability to meet the applicable testing criteria.
