TL;DR

Data Engineer (AWS): Building and maintaining data models and integration pipelines for application and reporting databases with an accent on AWS data services, data quality, and warehouse design. Focus on monitoring pipeline performance, troubleshooting data flows, integrating multiple sources, and supporting business intelligence tools across Latin America.

Location: Remote within Latin America; listed location: Santa Cruz, Bolivia

What you will do

Develop and maintain data models for application and reporting databases.
Build, monitor, and maintain daily data pipelines and troubleshoot execution or performance issues.
Integrate data from multiple sources and support AWS/Linux-based data integration solutions.
Improve data models and pipelines that feed business intelligence tools and support data-driven decision-making.
Implement data quality monitoring, perform data analysis, and resolve data-related issues.
Write unit and integration tests, document technical work, and collaborate with engineers, product managers, analysts, and business teams.

Requirements

3+ years of data pipeline development experience and 3+ years of SQL experience.
Experience with AWS services including S3, Athena, EC2, EMR, and Glue.
Experience with SQL Server, Redshift, PostgreSQL, RDS, Oracle, MySQL, or other relational databases.
Experience designing data warehouses, including star schemas, change data capture, denormalization, indexing, sorting, and distribution.
Experience with data integration platforms such as SnapLogic, Talend, Informatica, Pentaho Kettle, Jitterbit, or similar tools.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, plus strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer-service skills.

Nice to have

Knowledge of NoSQL databases.
Experience with GoodData, Tableau, Power BI, or similar BI tools.
Familiarity with SaaS and cloud data systems such as Salesforce.
