TL;DR
Technical Business Analyst, Product (Education Technology): Managing incidents, defects, requirements, and product improvements for the EDPlan education product with an accent on product configuration, client communication, and cross-functional delivery. Focus on translating business needs into functional specifications, coordinating defect resolution, and supporting testing and releases.

Location: Remote, but must be located in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, or Virginia; occasional travel of approximately 10–15% is required.

Salary: $73,000–$90,000 per year

What you will do

  • Develop deep working knowledge of the EDPlan product, including configuration, behavior, and the impact of requested changes.
  • Gather and review requirements, translating business and client needs into functional specifications, process diagrams, flow diagrams, wireframes, and prototypes.
  • Own incident management from identification through escalation, coordination, resolution, and documentation.
  • Lead defect triage by partnering with engineering to identify root causes, establish fix timelines, verify resolutions, and communicate status.
  • Coordinate testing with engineering and QA teams, support user acceptance testing, and contribute to releases, implementations, and product roadmap discussions.
  • Prepare documentation, release notes, end-user communications, and internal training materials while managing multiple concurrent priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, information systems, computer science, or a related field.
  • Strong critical thinking, investigation, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to manage incidents, defects, and project deadlines while remaining calm and organized under pressure.
  • Clear communication skills with clients and technical teams, including during high-stakes incident and defect discussions.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to recognize when escalation or assistance is needed.
  • Must be located in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, or Virginia.

Nice to have

  • Two to five years of experience in business analysis, technical support, incident management, or product-related work.
  • Familiarity with JIRA, ServiceNow, Axure RP, Power BI, or SQL.
  • Experience in education, education data systems, or related fields.
