Senior Fullstack Engineer, Portfolio Tools Engineering (Fintech)

Location: Boston, Massachusetts, United States; hybrid work with on-site attendance in the Boston office 3 days per week

Base salary: $160,000–$175,000 per year, plus potential discretionary incentive compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Build, test, and enhance tools that attribute portfolio positions, returns, and risk to alpha, risk, transaction, and liquidity models.
• Develop full-stack applications with Python, React, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks.
• Design scalable backend systems with Python, Ray, databases, data structures, and APIs for high-performance portfolio analytics.
• Optimize reporting across geographies, strategies, and use cases, including exception-based management reports.
• Implement modular, extensible, cloud-ready solutions and maintain the configuration-based language for portfolio analysis.
• Collaborate with portfolio managers, quantitative researchers, and engineers to align tools with investment workflows.

Requirements

• 6–10 years of full-stack development or portfolio tools engineering experience.
• Strong experience with Python, Ray, React, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks.
• Backend engineering expertise in API design, distributed parallel computing, and relational and non-relational databases.
• Experience optimizing systems for performance, scalability, and cloud deployment.
• Knowledge of portfolio decomposition, attribution, risk analysis, and quantitative investment strategies.
• Ability to work collaboratively, take ownership, and deliver in a fast-paced environment with deadlines.
