Applied Engineer (Fintech)

Location: New York, NY, USA; collaborative, in-office culture. Relocation support is available for employees moving to New York.

Salary: $160,000–$270,000 per year plus $60,000–$80,000 in equity.

DualEntry is building an AI-native ERP that automates accounting from data entry through financial close.

What you will do

• Own named customer projects end to end, from discovery and design through implementation, deployment, and verification.
• Build idempotent, resumable, and auditable migration and integration pipelines with Temporal.
• Model and load customer accounting data into PostgreSQL and reconcile it with existing systems.
• Develop internal tooling that turns recurring one-off solutions into reusable systems.
• Feed customer patterns back into the core product and productize or hand off permanent solutions.
• Shorten the path from customer request to shipped functionality.

Requirements

• 5+ years of independently shipping production full-stack software end to end.
• Strong Django and Django REST Framework experience, with PostgreSQL expertise beyond ORM defaults, including query-plan analysis and live-data migrations.
• Experience with Next.js, React, and TypeScript.
• Experience with durable workflows; Temporal is preferred, while Celery is also acceptable.
• Direct customer-facing experience scoping problems and delivering solutions.
• Experience integrating third-party APIs, webhooks, rate limits, and reconciling disagreeing systems.

Nice to have

• Accounting, ERP, or fintech knowledge, including double-entry accounting, charts of accounts, financial close, AP/AR, or revenue recognition.
• Forward-deployed, applied, or special-projects experience.
• Good judgment about when to ship a script versus build a system.
