Technical Product Manager (Fintech)

Location: Tokyo, Japan; hybrid role with at least 3 days per week in the local office

hirify.global operates a mobile-first insurance and financial services platform serving millions of customers across Southeast Asia and is expanding into spending, saving, investing, exchanging, and travel products.

What you will do

• Own a product vertical end-to-end, including outcomes, metrics, value-based prioritization, backlog management, and acceptance criteria.
• Shape technical designs with Engineering, covering system boundaries, APIs, data stores, money movement, reconciliation, security, latency, scalability, and recovery.
• Make and defend trade-offs across correctness, speed, cost, reliability, and user experience.
• Incorporate licensing, CDD/KYC, transaction limits, sanctions and PEP screening, transaction monitoring, data residency, and privacy into product decisions.
• Define responsible AI applications, including decision boundaries, human-in-the-loop requirements, evaluation methods, and uncertainty handling.
• Coordinate launches across Engineering, Design, Compliance, Operations, Treasury, and Finance/Reconciliation while clearing partner and regulatory gates.

Requirements

• Significant experience owning complex technical products end-to-end, with strong judgment and decisiveness under ambiguity.
• Solid system design knowledge, including boundaries, data stores, queues and workflows, APIs, failure modes, concurrency, and consistency.
• Experience in a regulated or high-consequence domain such as payments, banking, remittance, or insurance, or the ability to ramp up quickly.
• Hands-on experience with LLM-based products and the ability to define offline, online, and human-feedback evaluations.
• Strong English communication is required; English is the main working language across global teams.
• Must be based in, or able to work from, Tokyo, Japan, with office attendance at least 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Engineering or highly technical product management background.
• Zero-to-one product experience or experience shipping AI-heavy consumer products.
• Experience defining evaluation metrics for ML/LLM systems and designing AI UX with failure handling.
• Experience in Southeast Asian markets.
