Lead Manufacturing Engineer (Composites): Building and expanding fiberglass-related products from post-design execution through manufacturing and customer delivery with an accent on production ownership, tooling development, and manufacturing support. Focus on validating design execution, supervising production engineers, managing multiple products, and ensuring complete shipments meet customer specifications.

Location: Onsite in Gulfport, Mississippi, United States. Full-time 4/10 schedule with three-day weekends. United States citizenship is required, and the candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD Security Clearance.

hirify.global is presenting a direct/FTE manufacturing engineering opportunity with a client producing fiberglass-related products for customer delivery.

What you will do

  • Take end-to-end responsibility for building and expanding fiberglass-related products.
  • Work with the design team after design completion to confirm that designs can be executed in production.
  • Execute designs with support from production manufacturing engineers on the factory floor.
  • Own product development, tooling development, and manufacturing support across several products simultaneously.
  • Ensure production follows initial specifications and customer shipments are complete.
  • Interface regularly with customers and subcontractors and prepare manufacturing documentation and reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Composites, Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Chemical, Aerospace, Naval Architecture, or a related engineering discipline.
  • At least 8 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, including the last 4 years as a Production Lead.
  • End-to-end manufacturing responsibility, product development ownership, tooling development, and supervision of manufacturing support for multiple products.
  • Required experience with SolidWorks for modeling and drawing development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal customer service skills, with the ability to independently author work instructions, inspection procedures, white papers, and monthly reports.

Nice to have

  • Experience manufacturing fiberglass or related products such as aramid fiber or basalt fiber.
  • Subject matter expertise in several areas of the production process.
  • Experience producing proposals, schedules, budgets, and other programmatic deliverables.
