Manufacturing Engineer III (Lithium-Ion Batteries)

Location: Onsite in De Soto, Kansas, United States. Candidates must have valid authorization to work in the U.S. without restriction.

What you will do

• Lead medium-sized process improvement, equipment upgrade, and automation projects, managing scope, budgets, timelines, and results.
• Develop, validate, and maintain manufacturing standards, best practices, and technical documentation.
• Evaluate manufacturing system performance and implement data-driven improvements to throughput, yield, reliability, cost, and process stability.
• Resolve complex manufacturing, quality, and equipment issues using advanced problem-solving and statistical methods.
• Apply quality and risk-management tools including SPC, FMEA, and fault tree analysis.
• Mentor junior manufacturing engineers and collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Controls, and Engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering, or a closely related STEM field.
• At least 4 years of relevant engineering experience in a manufacturing environment; 6+ years is preferred.
• Experience independently leading complex technical initiatives and medium-sized projects.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing systems, equipment, process optimization, quality systems, and statistical analysis.
• Ability to communicate technical recommendations to management, influence cross-functional decisions, and mentor junior engineers.
• Working-level English proficiency is required, including reading, writing, and speaking.

Nice to have

• High-volume lithium-ion battery manufacturing or related automotive, electronics, or energy-storage experience.
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Certified Manufacturing Engineer, or advanced automation, controls, manufacturing integration, project leadership, or safety certification.
• Experience leading equipment upgrades, automation integration, or commissioning projects.
