Backend Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in San Francisco, CA, United States

Salary: $150,000 – $250,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Own the agent platform, infrastructure, and integrations runtime end-to-end.
• Establish engineering patterns and standards for the entire organization.
• Ship to production constantly while working directly with the founding team.
• Shape the architecture and technical direction of the platform.

Requirements

• 2–9 years of engineering experience in backend systems and infrastructure.
• Strong proficiency with TypeScript.
• Experience building production-grade, distributed, or agentic systems.
• Background at high-caliber engineering organizations.
• Comfortable with ownership and ambiguity in an early-stage environment.
• Visa sponsorship is available for this role.

Nice to have

• Experience with React, Bun, Effect-TS, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, and AWS.
