Backend Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Lisbon, Portugal; on-site

Salary: €52,000–€65,000 annually

What you will do

• Design and build RESTful or GraphQL APIs, microservices, and backend business logic with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Model data and manage queries using Supabase and PostgreSQL, including database functions, row-level security, and real-time features.
• Deploy and operate cloud-native services on Google Cloud Platform, including Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, IAM, and Pub/Sub.
• Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests; participate in code reviews and quality assurance practices.
• Implement secure authentication, authorization, and data protection while improving monitoring, alerting, incident response, and uptime.
• Contribute to architecture discussions, mentor team members, and document technical decisions and systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in backend engineering roles.
• Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript.
• Strong experience with Supabase or equivalent PostgreSQL-based backend services.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and serverless compute, including deploying and managing services.
• Knowledge of Clean Code, Clean Architecture, REST API design, cloud-native development, CI/CD pipelines, testing tools, and Git workflows.
• Strong understanding of security, data protection, compliance best practices, and effective cross-functional communication.
