Associate General Counsel, Product Regulatory (AI)

Location: Livingston, NJ; New York, NY; Sunnyvale, CA; Bellevue, WA; Washington, D.C.; or Dallas, TX. Applicants must be eligible to access U.S. export-controlled information as a U.S. person, through an applicable authorization exception, or through a reasonably obtainable U.S. government authorization.

Salary: $177,000–$237,000 base salary annually, plus eligible bonus, equity awards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Own and mature the product regulatory governance program, including review processes, approval frameworks, policies, controls, training, and audit-ready evidence.
• Lead legal reviews of products, features, AI capabilities, data uses, and infrastructure initiatives throughout the product lifecycle.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to embed privacy by design, responsible AI, security, data governance, transparency, and regulatory requirements into product architecture and roadmaps.
• Advise Supply Chain and Global Operations on equipment compliance, packaging requirements, technology transitions, and product-related regulatory programs.
• Align product functionality, customer commitments, contracts, disclosures, technical documentation, and marketing claims with approved controls and legal requirements.
• Lead regulatory inquiries, audits, investigations, policy engagements, cross-functional responses, remediation, and outside-counsel coordination.

Requirements

• 7+ years of relevant legal experience, including substantial counseling experience for complex technology products.
• Deep expertise in multiple areas relevant to AI and cloud products, including AI governance, privacy and data protection, cybersecurity, consumer protection, data regulation, or digital-services regulation.
• Technical fluency with product functionality, system architecture, data flows, model behavior, and technical documentation.
• Experience designing product governance programs, conducting international product risk assessments, and advising on launches, market entry, technology transitions, and cross-border requirements.
• J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar; NY, NJ, CA, DC, or WA preferred.
• Strong judgment, executive presence, drafting and communication skills, and the ability to lead through influence across Product, Engineering, Privacy, AI, Security, Commercial Legal, Supply Chain, and Global Operations.

Nice to have

• Experience advising a high-growth cloud, AI, SaaS, data center, infrastructure, or other technology company.
• Experience with product compliance involving supply chains, equipment, packaging, environmental requirements, or global operations.
• Experience engaging regulators, standards bodies, industry groups, or external counsel on novel technology issues.
