Sr. Software Architect - Development Platform (AWS)

Location: Beaverton, Oregon, United States; hybrid

Salary: $133,000–$223,000 annually, plus potential discretionary bonuses and incentives.

What you will do

• Build internal and external development platforms, developer workflows, and virtual test environments for NGHE.
• Design and architect scalable, resilient, secure, and highly available cloud applications and infrastructure on AWS.
• Define architectural patterns, standards, guidelines, and best practices for cloud-based applications.
• Guide the use of AWS services and support infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment.
• Review system architectures, troubleshoot technical issues, and optimize application performance, security, and availability.
• Collaborate with software architects, application architects, engineers, DevOps specialists, system administrators, and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience architecting and implementing complex infrastructure and software platforms across bare-metal and cloud environments.
• 10+ years of systems architecture, design, and development experience in aviation, automotive, IoT, cloud, or a similar industry.
• Experience creating software catalogs, developer portals, plugin architectures, custom developer experiences, and service catalogs.
• Experience integrating development platforms with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, Octopus Deploy, or ArgoCD, and working with RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Experience with Kubernetes, virtual test environments, SDKs, APIs, TypeScript, React, and development platform tools such as Backstage, Port, Cortex, or Cycloid. Valid authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
