Senior Director of Product for Data Governance

Location: Remote; available locations include Bethesda and Dover in the United States, and Cologne, Karlsruhe, Frankfurt, Münster, Ulm, and Leipzig in Germany

Salary: €50,000–€60,000 per year

What you will do

• Establish and lead the Data Governance Office, including governance frameworks and stewardship models.
• Define and execute the enterprise data governance roadmap covering data discovery, access governance, and AI governance.
• Partner with Legal, Risk, Compliance, Security, Engineering, and Product teams to implement governance policies and automated controls.
• Operationalize frameworks for data quality, metadata, privacy, security, and master data management.
• Embed governance controls throughout the data lifecycle, including analytics, AI/ML, and enterprise systems.
• Measure governance maturity, adoption of governed data assets, data risk reduction, and control effectiveness.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in product management, data governance, data management, or related leadership functions.
• Experience leading governance, privacy, or enterprise data programs in regulated environments.
• Proven success establishing or significantly maturing enterprise data governance capabilities.
• Experience collaborating across Legal, Risk, Compliance, Security, Engineering, and Product functions.
