Product Owner - AI Ready Unstructured Data Governance (AI)

Location: Toronto, Canada. Hybrid work with 3 days per week onsite required.

Salary: CAD 127,000–177,000 annually, including target bonus.

What you will do

• Own the vision, discovery, roadmap, strategy, backlog, and lifecycle of unstructured and semi-structured data governance products.
• Extend the AI-Ready Data Framework to content such as technical documents, PDFs, DOCX, PPTX, images, and audio/video.
• Translate business and governance needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritized product increments.
• Partner with engineering, data architecture, UX, Agile delivery, and business teams across discovery, delivery, growth, and sustain phases.
• Drive governance controls including data cataloging, metadata extraction, data quality checks, risk classification, and least-privilege access.
• Define product KPIs and adoption metrics, use insights for prioritization, and support change management across business units.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of digital product management experience, including ownership of data, AI, or analytics products.
• Experience with unstructured and semi-structured data governance, metadata management, data cataloging, data classification, data quality, and access control.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with engineering, architecture, UX, and cross-functional delivery squads.
• Ability to lead user research, define personas, refine backlogs, run sprint ceremonies, and make data-driven decisions using KPI and adoption dashboards.
• Knowledge of GenAI, Agentic AI, modern data platforms, Snowflake, AWS S3, data catalogs, or regulated industries is advantageous.
