What you will do

• Conduct advanced physical and psychosocial assessments for complex patient populations.
• Diagnose conditions, order and interpret laboratory and imaging tests, and prescribe treatments within the authorized scope of practice.
• Manage chronic conditions, acute illnesses, and complex multimorbidities across complete episodes of care.
• Refer patients to secondary and tertiary care, specialists, and allied health professionals.
• Provide clinical consultation, lead quality improvement and audit initiatives, and develop models of care.
• Mentor and supervise nursing staff, postgraduate students, and intern Nurse Practitioners.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Nursing or an equivalent NCNZ-approved Nurse Practitioner pathway.
• Current Nursing Council of New Zealand registration in the Nurse Practitioner scope of practice, with prescribing rights.
• Current unrestricted Annual Practising Certificate.
• At least 4 years of advanced clinical practice in the relevant specialty.
• Expert diagnostic reasoning, pharmacological knowledge, and understanding of New Zealand health legislation and funding structures.
• Proficiency with Patient Management Systems such as Medtech or Indici, plus strong inter-professional communication and negotiation skills.
