Field Operations Specialist (Accessible Telecommunications): Providing in-home and community-based support for accessible telecommunications equipment and California's Deaf and Disabled Telecommunications Program with an accent on customer education, equipment installation, and community outreach. Location: Santa Rosa, California for the first 90 days of training, then Berkeley/Bay Area; regional driving and in-home customer visits are required.
Salary: $30–$35 per hour

What you will do
- Provide customer service, education, assessments, installations, equipment training, troubleshooting, and follow-up for accessible telecommunications equipment.
- Support customers through videophone, messaging, text, interpreting applications, in-person visits, and community-based services.
- Educate consumers and community organizations about telecommunications access options, relay services, and the California Connect application process.
- Plan and implement messaging, outreach, website, video, social media, and blog content for California's Deaf and Disabled Telecommunications Program.
- Gather community feedback through focus groups and surveys to identify barriers and improve resources.
- Maintain accurate service records, referrals, follow-up documentation, and reporting in line with state requirements and security protocols.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related human services field or equivalent professional experience.
- Two years of professional experience supporting deaf, hard-of-hearing, deaf-blind, or disabled customers.
- Two years of experience in advocacy, marketing, communications, or an equivalent combination.
- Ability to communicate in various proficiency levels of American Sign Language (ASL).
- Excellent oral, visual, and written communication, organization, record-keeping, multitasking, and time-management skills.
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to use a personal vehicle for regional customer visits are required.
Nice to have
- Ability to speak Cantonese, Mandarin, or Spanish.
- Experience with CRM and inventory management systems.
- Knowledge of local, state, and national resources for deaf, deaf-blind, and hard-of-hearing communities.
