Senior Business Data Analyst (AI)

Location: Remote (United States)

Salary: $130,000–$160,000 yearly, plus performance bonuses.

What you will do

• Lead client-facing discovery sessions with operators, analysts, and executives to define and prioritize business requirements.
• Translate ambiguous business problems into data models, dashboards, KPI frameworks, and decision-support tools.
• Write production-quality SQL and build trusted models using Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift, dbt, or equivalent tools.
• Build and maintain reporting in Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Sigma, Mode, or the client’s preferred BI platform.
• Surface trends, anomalies, and opportunities proactively, and lead status updates, demos, working sessions, and stakeholder reviews.
• Apply LLM-based analysis, natural-language-to-SQL, agentic data exploration, and AI-assisted documentation; mentor junior analysts and improve internal analytics playbooks.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a business analyst, data analyst, BI analyst, or analytics consultant, including at least 2 years in a client-facing or embedded role.
• Expert SQL skills, including window functions, CTEs, performance tuning, and data validation.
• Strong data modeling fundamentals, including dimensional modeling, star and snowflake schemas, and dbt or equivalent transformation tooling.
• Hands-on experience with at least one cloud data warehouse and one modern BI tool.
• Ability to lead requirements workshops, manage stakeholder alignment, challenge unclear requirements, and communicate effectively with different audiences.
• Working fluency with AI tools for analytical work and sound judgment about their benefits and risks.

Nice to have

• Experience in commercial real estate, financial services, healthcare technology, or insurance.
• Python for analytical workflows, including pandas, notebooks, or API scripting.
• Experience scoping and pricing analytics work or contributing to statements of work.
• Familiarity with data quality, observability, governance, or AI-native analytics tools.
• Prior consulting or agency experience with utilization, billing, and multi-client work.
