Accounting Manager (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid role based in the Palo Alto office, with offices in Palo Alto, California and New York, New York.

Salary: $135K–$160K annually, plus equity.

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end monthly and quarterly close process, including journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and account reconciliations.
• Maintain the general ledger, prepare financial statements and supporting schedules, and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Manage accounts payable activities and vendor relationships as needed.
• Partner with the Controller to improve processes, automate workflows, and strengthen internal controls.
• Support the first external audit through schedule preparation and policy documentation.
• Partner with the Controller on implementing a new ERP for a multi-entity structure and coordinate tax filing requirements with external advisors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and/or experience in a fast-paced startup or financial services environment.
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and month-end close processes.
• Experience with modern accounting systems such as NetSuite or Intuit and financial close or reconciliation tools.
• Strong Excel skills, comfort working with large data sets, and high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, and external auditors.

Nice to have

• CPA certification.
• Experience in fintech, asset management, fund administration, or private markets.
