SAP Database Engineer (SAP HANA)

Location: 100% remote within the United States

What you will do

• Design, build, and optimize HANA-native data models and analytical objects for S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, and standalone HANA platforms.
• Translate complex business and analytics requirements into performant HANA models.
• Develop and maintain calculation views, CDS views, AMDPs, and SQLScript solutions.
• Diagnose and resolve HANA performance issues across the SAP landscape.
• Apply HANA performance-tuning tools and methodologies.
• Document solutions and collaborate with stakeholders on troubleshooting and analytics requirements.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States.
• At least 5 years of SAP HANA development experience; the position listing also specifies 6+ years of experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong hands-on expertise with calculation views, CDS views, AMDPs, SQLScript, and SQL.
• Understanding of HANA architecture, including in-memory storage, columnar processing, and parallel execution.
• Experience with HANA replication tools such as SLT, SDI, and SDA, plus HANA security models, analytic privileges, and roles.

Nice to have

• SAP-certified HANA modeling or development credentials.
• Experience with HANA Native Storage Extension, dynamic tiering, large-scale migrations, or upgrades.
• Exposure to HANA Cloud, SAP Datasphere, and BTP-based analytics tooling such as SAC.
• Familiarity with S/4HANA embedded analytics or BW/4HANA modeling.
