Telemetry Engineer (OpenTelemetry)

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $100,000–$150,000 annually

What you will do

• Design, implement, and manage enterprise observability platforms.
• Provide actionable insights through metrics, logs, traces, and alerting.
• Support monitoring solutions for large-scale cloud environments.
• Apply SRE practices, including SLO definition and incident management.
• Work with distributed tracing, structured logging, Linux, containers, and CI/CD systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in SRE, Platform Engineering, or Observability.
• Strong experience with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and Datadog, New Relic, or Splunk.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, or Java.
• Strong understanding of SRE principles, SLOs, and incident management.
• Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States; new H-1B visa petitions cannot be sponsored.

Nice to have

• Experience with Thanos, Mimir, Cortex, Loki, or Tempo.
• Familiarity with eBPF-based observability tools.
• Experience with observability cost optimization or regulated environments.
• Contributions to OpenTelemetry or other observability open-source projects.
