Quality Control Technician - Level 4 (Lithium-Ion Battery Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in De Soto, Kansas, United States. All candidates must have valid authorization to work in the U.S. without restriction.

Panasonic Energy is expanding a lithium-ion battery manufacturing facility supporting sustainable energy solutions and electric vehicles.

What you will do

• Perform advanced inspections, testing, audits, failure analysis, and verification across products and manufacturing processes.
• Manage complex nonconformances, including containment coordination, disposition support, and corrective-action follow-through.
• Analyze process performance using SPC, Cp/Cpk, trend analysis, and other statistical methods.
• Validate inspection methods, test procedures, measurement systems, process controls, and equipment qualifications.
• Support NPI, process changes, continuous improvement, and quality-system development.
• Train and mentor quality technicians and inspectors while collaborating with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or two years of prior experience in the functional area.
• At least 3 years of experience in quality inspection, quality control, or manufacturing; 6+ years is preferred for high-volume manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of quality systems, manufacturing processes, inspection methods, measurement tools, technical drawings, and engineering documentation.
• Experience with nonconformances, root cause analysis, corrective actions, SPC, Cp/Cpk, PFMEA, Control Plans, and MSA.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, analyze data using computer tools such as Excel and MES, and collaborate across functions.
• Working-level English reading, writing, and speaking skills required; unrestricted U.S. work authorization required.

Nice to have

• Associate or bachelor's degree in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field.
• Certified Quality Technician certification, Six Sigma Green Belt or higher, or OSHA 10- or 30-Hour General Industry Certification.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Python, process validation, NPI, equipment qualification, audits, or quality standardization.
