TL;DR

Hardware Engineering Intern (Hardware, Software, and AI): Troubleshooting field hardware units, supporting prototype testing, and building software and AI tools for diagnosing hardware failures with an accent on cross-disciplinary systems analysis, sensor data interpretation, and root cause analysis. Focus on analyzing customer-reported failures, determining corrective actions, and validating novel hardware products through prototyping and testing.

Location: On-site in San Francisco, United States

Salary: $30–$35 per hour

What you will do

Troubleshoot customer-reported issues in field units by analyzing unit data.
Speak with customers as needed to understand hardware failures.
Work with engineering teams to identify root causes and corrective actions.
Support prototype development and product testing.
Build software and AI tools to facilitate diagnosis of hardware failures.

Requirements

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and software systems.
Ability to interpret data and sensor readings.
Familiarity with root cause analysis, design of experiments, and quality measurement techniques.
Pursuing or recently completed a BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
