TL;DR
2027 Spring Co-op - Immunology (Immunology Research): Conducting in vitro immunology experiments and developing cell-based assays to evaluate immunomodulatory therapeutics with an accent on immune pathways, mammalian cell culture, and flow cytometry. Focus on analyzing immunological readouts, maintaining accurate experiment records, and contributing to collaborative research on inflammatory diseases.

Location: Onsite in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States; relocation to the office location required. Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, for six months.

Salary: $29–$45 per hour.

What you will do

  • Execute in vitro experiments focused on immune pathways.
  • Develop and optimize cell-based assays for evaluating immunomodulatory therapeutics.
  • Analyze flow cytometry data and other immunological readouts.
  • Maintain cell cultures, prepare reagents, and support laboratory organization and equipment maintenance.
  • Collect, analyze, and present research data at team meetings.
  • Collaborate on ongoing immunology research projects in a matrix environment.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in immunology, biology, biotechnology, or a related field.
  • Permanent authorization to work in the United States without current or future employment visa sponsorship.
  • Enrollment at an accredited college or university throughout the co-op.
  • Strong academic background in cell biology, preferably including cellular immunology.
  • Basic laboratory skills in aseptic technique, mammalian cell culture, and protein analysis.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.

Nice to have

  • Previous or current laboratory research experience in immunology or a related field.
  • Experience isolating and culturing primary human blood immune cells.
  • Familiarity with flow cytometry and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of regulatory T-cell biology and its role in inflammation.
