Senior Software Engineer - Customer Facing Applied AI (AI)

Location: Remote, United States; occasional work outside standard business hours may be required for client time zones, with up to 15% travel to client sites.

Base salary: $188,000–$235,000 USD annually, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Build AI-powered agents and tools from client problem discovery through prototyping, evaluation, and production deployment.
• Design LLM integrations using prompt engineering, function calling, structured outputs, and retrieval-augmented workflows.
• Define evaluation criteria and build test harnesses for AI systems with ambiguous, domain-specific correctness.
• Work directly with clients and domain experts to understand workflows, validate AI behavior, and improve production quality.
• Partner with core engineering teams to turn client-specific solutions into product features.
• Contribute to AI infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and the reliability, cost, and performance of production systems.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Professional experience with Python and LLM APIs such as Claude or GPT, including function calling and structured outputs.
• Comfort with SQL for data exploration and data-grounded AI workflows.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or similar.
• Experience taking a project from zero to one and iterating from prototype to production with strong client focus.
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience building agentic systems, multi-step tool use, agent orchestration, or durable workflows.
• Experience with Java or other backend languages.
• Familiarity with financial data such as portfolios, transactions, securities, or accounting.
• Exposure to AWS, container-based deployments, or AI evaluation frameworks.
