Senior Director, Corporate Development (Deep Tech)

Location: San Jose, California; must be willing to relocate. Remote work is available within established company policies. The role includes 15–25% domestic and international travel.

Salary: $242,900–$323,800 per year.

What you will do

• Own the full M&A lifecycle, from target identification and due diligence through valuation, negotiation, structuring, and close.
• Lead mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, spin-outs, divestitures, vertical integrations, and other complex transactions.
• Build deal pipelines across data storage, AI/cloud adjacencies, and deep-tech markets through relationships with bankers, investors, startups, and operators.
• Develop valuation frameworks, financial models, deal structures, and build-versus-buy-versus-partner analyses.
• Source and assess corporate venture investments and strategic partnerships in storage, data infrastructure, AI, and deep tech.
• Present investment recommendations and strategic analyses to the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors while coordinating execution with Engineering, Product, Finance, Commercial, Legal, and HR.

Requirements

• 8–10 years of experience in M&A, investment banking, private equity, corporate development, venture capital, or corporate ventures.
• Experience in a highly technical industry such as storage, semiconductors, infrastructure, aerospace and defense, biopharma, or telecom.
• Demonstrated full-cycle transaction ownership, including financial modeling, due diligence, negotiation, and post-merger activity.
• Ability to independently build sophisticated valuation and deal models and structure complex transactions.
• Experience managing cross-functional deals and influencing C-suite and Board-level executives.
• Must be willing to relocate to San Jose, California.

Nice to have

• AI-adjacent experience in data, storage, software, or memory subsystems.
• Experience with hyperscale cloud providers, semiconductor companies, or large OEMs.
• Deep-tech venture investing experience and an active network of bankers, VCs, advisors, and operators.
• Experience with cross-border M&A and international transaction structuring.
• MBA from a top-tier business school.
