Technical Writer (Banking)

Location: Fully onsite in Phoenix, Arizona

Salary: $22.70–$30.00 per hour, with possible performance-based incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Create, revise, format, proofread, and publish technical specifications, policies, procedures, forms, quick-reference guides, webpages, and articles.
• Manage documentation projects, maintain tracking systems, and provide stakeholders with regular status updates.
• Collaborate with departments and subject matter experts to ensure accurate messaging aligned with bank rules, regulations, and industry trends.
• Improve documentation processes and standards by identifying efficiencies and recommending enhancements.
• Maintain consistency and accuracy across documents produced by others.
• Support compliance with applicable banking regulations and may coach, mentor, or train others as a subject matter expert.

Requirements

• Required experience in project management, editing, and technical writing.
• Experience creating or revising technical and support documentation with input from multiple stakeholders and subject matter experts.
• Experience with document formatting, reviewing, editing, and proofreading, with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to understand and communicate technical or specialized subject matter, particularly bank systems and the banking industry.
• Strong written and verbal communication, active listening, relationship-building, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Word styles and content controls and Excel formulas or pivot tables.

Nice to have

• Experience with desktop publishing software.
• Experience with web design or HTML editing software.
• Experience creating forms with form fields using Acrobat, JavaScript, or similar programming languages.
• Financial industry experience in both lending and deposits.
