Annual base salary: $109,000–$152,000, plus applicable benefits and equity.

What you will do

  • Solve complex manufacturing problems, conduct root cause and failure analyses, and implement vetted solutions for electromechanical products.
  • Develop, characterize, validate, and optimize manufacturing processes, equipment, raw materials, and products using statistical and engineering methods.
  • Support production by monitoring process and equipment performance, improving yield, efficiency, and throughput, and maintaining product and process documentation.
  • Design fixtures, procure tooling and equipment, implement fixturing on production lines, and perform equipment qualifications.
  • Lead supplier-level projects, coordinate test plans and timelines, and communicate cross-functionally with suppliers and internal engineering groups.
  • Develop specifications, author test protocols and reports, train production personnel, and ensure adherence to quality and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Electrical, Chemical, Materials, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field, plus 2+ years of relevant engineering experience or an equivalent combination.
  • Experience with electronic devices and/or PCBAs.
  • Experience with contract-manufactured electromechanical medical device products.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; leadership skills are desirable.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and other computer applications.
  • Ability and willingness to work on site in Alameda; business travel of 0%–10%.

Nice to have

  • Manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in the medical device industry.
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations, Lean/Flow Manufacturing, materials, and manufacturing processes.
