Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Fusion Energy)

Location: Devens, Massachusetts, United States. On-site, Monday through Friday, 10:00 pm–6:30 am.

Salary: $126,000–$212,000 per year, including a 15% shift differential, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, implement, analyze, and optimize manufacturing processes across the production line.
• Own magnet production for the third shift and make real-time decisions within established escalation guidelines.
• Create and maintain work instructions, SOPs, process flow diagrams, and other process documentation.
• Collaborate with design, production, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to improve manufacturability and production performance.
• Lead the design and procurement of production tools, fixtures, and equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues, implement corrective actions, and evaluate automation technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in manufacturing or production engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and quality systems.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as NX, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD, and manufacturing ERP systems.
• Ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and balance autonomy with disciplined escalation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and work extended periods standing, sitting, stooping, or typing; willingness to work nights, weekends, or on-call shifts when required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA).
