Sales Trainee (Electrical Distribution)

Location: San Diego, California, United States; onsite branch and warehouse work required

Salary: USD 20.97–26.21 per hour, depending on qualifications, experience, and other permitted considerations. Commission/Bonus Plan: Branch Pool Plan.

What you will do

• Complete a structured Sales Trainee orientation covering product knowledge, warehouse operations, customer service, sales, and marketing support.
• Learn outside sales, inside sales, counter sales, project management, and other parts of the sales process.
• Answer customer product inquiries, process orders, generate quotes, provide delivery and payment details, and recommend substitute products when appropriate.
• Build and maintain customer relationships while prioritizing transaction processing and responding to information requests.
• Complete operational documents and reports, including sales reports, shipping documents, tickets, price sheets, and catalogues.
• Rotate through branch, warehouse, and project-house roles to learn materials flow and sales operations; occasionally shadow sales calls.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of customer service, sales, or related experience.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Basic analytical skills, attention to detail, and strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents and respond to customer or business-community inquiries.
• Ability to work in a branch and warehouse environment, use computers and warehouse equipment, and occasionally handle loads up to 50 pounds.
