Electrical Engineering Researcher (Test Benches)

Location: Wilton, Connecticut, United States; onsite presence required with remote work available up to two days per week

Base salary: $102,375–$150,000 annually

What you will do

• Define test bench interface requirements, system architecture, functionality, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Design electrical hardware, schematics, PCB assemblies, cabinets, instrumentation, safety systems, power distribution, and control hardware.
• Drive test bench development from concept through deployment, commissioning, integration, debugging, and operational support.
• Plan and execute validation, verification, component testing, sub-module integration, and system-level integration.
• Diagnose electrical, PCB, wiring, and system integration issues and implement reliability and usability improvements.
• Coordinate cross-functional engineering work, suppliers, interfaces, dependencies, risks, and technical deliverables.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; an MS or PhD is preferred.
• At least 4 years of relevant professional experience.
• Proficiency in LabVIEW and MATLAB for test automation, data acquisition, and instrumentation control.
• Experience with KiCAD, PCB design and troubleshooting, cable and harness design, electrical schematics, and laboratory instrumentation.
• Programming experience with Python, C, or similar embedded software.
• Ability to work onsite in Wilton, Connecticut, with remote work available up to two days per week.
• Must be legally authorized to access technology controlled under United States export regulations before starting work.

Nice to have

• Experience with PLCs, industrial control systems, motion control systems, electrical cabinet design, or system integration.
• Knowledge of safety standards, risk assessment, electronic design automation, circuit simulation, version control, configuration management, and engineering release processes.
• Experience in research, prototyping, or high-tech development environments.
