Senior Electrical Engineer (Space Systems)

Location: Hybrid role based in Tukwila, Washington, with 2+ days in the office. Must be a US Person.

Salary: $120,000–$150,000 per year for candidates in the Great Seattle Area, Washington.

What you will do

• Design and develop power subsystems for small satellite spacecraft through system development and product delivery.
• Derive and maintain system requirements, power budgets, power simulations, and electrical interface documentation for LEO spacecraft.
• Create and review electrical designs, schematics, layouts, flight harnesses, interconnect diagrams, and grounding schemes.
• Support component selection, trade studies, design reviews, integration, testing, launch, operations, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with mission architects, systems engineers, program managers, suppliers, external electronics providers, and integration testers.
• Provide electrical expertise for production issues, design updates, troubleshooting, board bring-up, and system-level testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science or higher in Electrical Engineering or Embedded Systems.
• 6+ years of experience delivering digital and/or analog embedded hardware.
• Experience designing spacecraft power system concepts, building LEO spacecraft power budgets, and working with battery and photovoltaic technologies.
• Experience developing electronics hardware for space or other demanding environments involving temperature, reliability, or radiation constraints.
• Proficiency in schematic capture, layout oversight, manufacturing support, electronics troubleshooting, debugging, board bring-up, and system-level testing.
• Proficiency with Altium or similar circuit design, schematic capture, and library management tools. Must be a US Person due to US Government space technology export regulations and ITAR requirements.

Nice to have

• 2–3 years of experience with power systems, including battery design and testing.
• Experience with Atlassian tools, modern requirements management tools, enterprise MRP/ERP systems, or aerospace product assurance practices.
• Familiarity with SIMPLIS/SIMetrix electronics modeling.
