Loan Credit Specialist 3 (Commercial Lending)

What you will do

• Review, renew, monitor, and decision commercial and commercial real estate loan applications within assigned authority.
• Analyze financial statements, tax returns, project cash flow, income potential, and debt service obligations to assess repayment capacity.
• Evaluate loan structure, collateral, interest rates, fees, credit policy, and applicable commercial lending regulations.
• Provide loan decisions, credit recommendations, approval terms, conditions, and alternative financing or restructuring options.
• Document and adjudicate final credit decisions in the credit processing system and refer requests exceeding approval limits.
• Support Relationship Managers, administrators, and the document analysis center, and mentor lower-level Loan Credit Specialists.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of credit analysis or loan review experience, preferably in banking.
• Knowledge of commercial credit underwriting, credit policy, risk management, fair lending, HMDA, and relevant regulations.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word, plus familiarity with deposit and loan accounting systems.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, organizational, judgment, and deadline-management skills.
• Must work at the UNO Center in New Orleans, Louisiana; travel may be required.
