Director, Head of Editorial & Content (Robotics)

Location: Fully remote within the United States, with an option to work hybrid if within commuting distance of offices in Salem, Oregon, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, or Fremont, California. Current authorization to work in the United States is required.

Salary: $171,000–$268,000 USD annually, with the final offer depending on market location, knowledge, skills, and experience.

What you will do

• Define the global editorial strategy positioning the brand as an authority on humanoid robotics, physical labor, and scaled deployment.
• Build an owned media presence across websites and digital channels to grow retention and recurring audiences.
• Translate complex technical concepts into authoritative stories, explainers, customer case studies, newsletters, industry reports, video, and audio content.
• Develop relationships with internal experts, consultants, strategic partners, and suppliers to identify original insights and story angles.
• Coordinate content calendars and cross-channel packaging with Creative, Communications, Demand Generation, and Product Marketing.
• Build an AI-assisted publishing workflow, lead the editorial team, and establish metrics, optimization tests, and reporting.

Requirements

• 8+ years of editorial leadership experience in an in-house technology editorial function or a media/technology publication.
• Experience scaling an editorial or content engine from scratch at a category-defining startup or modern media outlet.
• Strong editorial judgment, reporting instincts, and the ability to explain complex technical subjects clearly.
• Mastery of modern content ecosystems, including websites, newsletters, social media, video, and distribution channels.
• Experience building editorial processes, managing freelance networks, and maintaining a high publishing cadence.
• Current authorization to work in the United States is required.
